INSERTING HIT COUNTERS
Note: For this feature to be functional, you must publish your website to a web-hosting server that supports FrontPage extensions. The MCSD server does NOT support such extensions; however, we do have a stats program on the server that will give the webmaster helpful information.
A hit counter tallies and displays the number of times a page has been visited. You can add a hit counter to your homepage so that you and site visitors can see how many times your website has been visited.
After you add a hit counter to a page, you can reset the counter to any number. For example, you test a website after you publish it to make sure that it is working properly, and then you find that the hit counter has been affected by your own visits. You can reset the counter to zero to start it over.
INSERT | WEB COMPONENT | HIT COUNTER. Select the graphic you want and click finish.
In this dialog box, select the options you want. Around the counter, type in the text you want to display. See the example below.
